LAHORE: An accountability court on Wednesday directed the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to take possession of properties and freeze bank accounts of the Bank of Punjab (BoP) scam accused.The court passed the order on an application filed by the NAB through its prosecutor, Mehr Ishaq. The accused included BoP ex-president Hamesh Khan, Shoaib Qureshi and Haroon Aziz along with two directors of the Harris Steel Mills, Sheikh Afzal and Sheikh Munir.In its application, the NAB had submitted that all the properties of the accused had been made through illegal means and conditions of plea bargaining were not being fulfilled, so the court might attach the entire properties related to the accused.The court issued orders for freezing the bank accounts and taking possession of the properties of all the accused.Hamesh Khan and other accused are involved in the scam, in which Rs 12 billion were embezzled – Dailytimes
