ABU DHABI: President Asif Ali Zardari was accorded a warm red carpet welcome, when he arrived here on a two-day official visit to attend World Future Energy Summit (WFES) 2011.He was received at the Amiri Airport by high ranking officials of UAE government.The President’s entourage includes Federal Ministers A Rehman Malik and Raja Pervez Ashraf.Pakistan’s Ambassador to UAE Jameel Ahmad Khan and senior embassy officials were also present at the airport to receive the President.The purpose of President’s visit is to attend WFE Summit which is being attended by world leaders, investors, policy makers, researchers, financial institutions and experts dedicated to renewable energy and environment.
President Zardari shall be addressing the summit and shall speak of his vision to take the country forward and the efforts to put energy deficient Pakistan on sound economic footing.President Zardari will also hold official talks as well as one on one meeting with the UAE’s top leaders during his stay in the UAE capital.The engagements of President Zardari will also include meetings with the visiting world leaders among them Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Prime Minister of Portugal and Secretary General United Nations Ban Ki Moon and other important dignitaries.Briefing the media Spokesman to the President Farhatullah Babar said that during the talks with UAE leadership, the President will discuss matters of bilateral interest including the prospects of increased trade and economic and investment cooperation between Pakistan and the UAEm – APP
