KARACHI: Sindh government has introduced the Biometrics Identification Electronic System (BIES) project. This has been done to foster awareness among the Sindh Secretariat staff regarding security. A statement here on Tuesday said that a meeting to this effect was held in the office of the Chief Secretary of Sindh Syed Ghulam Ali Shah Pasha, who reviewed the over all progress.
It was pointed out that BIES project has been elaborated in accordance with a resolution passed by the Sindh Assembly. The total project cost is Rs 98.87 million, which will store biometrics information for all employees of Sindh Secretariat with 42 departments, CM House and Governor House. The meeting was informed that employees enrollment form of 2,102 employees linked to 27 departments have been handed over to IT department for registration task. Chief secretary advised that the employees’ enrollment forms for other departments might also be collected expeditiously – DailyTimes
