MQM chief says Nawaz was trained by dictator and generals
KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain on Tuesday challenged Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz chief Nawaz Sharif to an open debate in front of the media on the issues and allegations that the PML-N chief made against the MQM. Speaking to a gathering, Altaf decried the “unwarranted harangue” of the PML-N leader against the MQM in a public meeting in Muzffarabad.
The MQM chief came down hard on Nawaz for criticising the MQM and called Nawaz ‘a by-product of dictatorship’. He said the PML-N chief was trained by dictators and generals like Ziaul Haq and Durrani. He said that during Nawaz’s government, the Supreme Court of Pakistan was attacked and dishonoured, adding that talking about an independent judiciary did not suit the PML-N chief.
He said the PML-N leader was fed with “the feeder” of dictatorship for many years, and after seeking apologies from a dictator, left for Saudi Arabia with his relatives, servants and bags full of money. The MQM chief, without taking Nawaz’s name, said a Muslim League leader was criticising the MQM, adding, “If the Pendora’s box is opened, this leader will not come out of his Raiwind home.” staff report – Dailytimes
