KARACHI: Pakistan’s top ranked cueist Imran Shehzad ended his outing from the last 16 round of IBSF World Snooker Championship when he was beaten 1-5 by Alex Borg of Malta in Damascus (Syria) on Monday evening. Lahore-born Imran, failed to stand against Alex Borg’s vast professional experience and brilliant potting positional play. Imran thus went without offering any challenge.Alex Borg, who suffered a surprise loss to Sohail Shehzad in the group “H” league rounds, kept Imran under pressure throughout while notching-up 61-24, 117-0, 78-37, 14-100, 62-43, 78-2 victory.Imran Shehzad survived being blanked by his opponent by grabbing the sixth frame.In the meantime former World Champion Pankaj Advani (India), Noppadol Sangnil, Deechawat Poomjaeng (Both Thailand) and Rodney Goggins (Ireland) advanced to the semifinal stage of the competition.Advani beat Ken Moh Hoo, Sangnil defeated Martin McCrudden (Ireland) 6-5, Poomjaeng beat Alex Borg 6-4 and Goggins defeated Leo Fernendez (England).In the meantime a five-member Pakistan including two officials are due to return home in the wee hours of Wednesday evening after taking part in the event – App
