KARACHI: Corps Commander Lieutenant General Muhammad Zahir Ul Islam chaired a meeting on Wednesday at Corps Headquarters to review the security arrangements being made for the month of Muharram. IGP Sindh, home secretary, DG Rangers (Sindh), intelligence agencies and other important officials involved in the security management attended the meeting. An ISPR press release said that the aim of the meeting was to incisively evaluate the security situation and preparatory measures undertaken to pre-empt any untoward incident. The corps commander ensured all possible assistance to maintain law and order in the province. He emphasised on well-rehearsed coordination down to union council/police station level among the law enforcing agencies and to ensure high vigilance and alertness during Muharram. He also said that the Pak Army units will remain alert to act on the request of the provincial government – Dailytimes
