16 killed, 32 injured in Kohat suicide attack

KOHAT: A suicide bomber blew himself up at a bus terminal in Tirah Bazaar here on Wednesday, killing 16 persons and injuring 32 others, police said.Fourteen victims died on the spot whlie two of the injured expired in Kohat District Hospital.DPO Kohat Dilwar Bangash told journalists that it was a suicide blast and a head and legs of the teenaged bomber have been found.Jehangir Khan, SHO city police station, said the bomber blew himselp himself up near a bus, which was carrying passengers for nearby Orakzai Agency.Fourteen persons were killed on the spot and 32 others sustained injuries.The identity of victims could not be immediately ascertained. Five vehicles were destroyed and several damaged.Local people and police rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to Kohat District Hospital.

It was the second deadly suicide attack in last three days. Some fifty persons were killed in two blasts at Ghalanai in Mohmand on Monday.Emergency was declared in Kohat District Hospital and doctors on leave were called in for duty.Governor Khyber Pakthunkhwa Owais Ahmed Ghani and Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti strongly condemned the deadly blast and termed it a coward act of terrorism.They said that the perpetrators of the blast would be brought to justice soon.They prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed souls in eternal peace and grant courage to members of the bereaved families to bear this loss with patience. They directed the hospital administration to provide better medical facilities to the injured. They said that the sacrifices of martyrs would not go waste – App
