LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice Khawaja Muhammad Sharif will retire today (Wednesday) on attaining the age of superannuation, which is 62.Justice Sharif was elevated to the LHC in May 1998. He was deposed on November 3, 2007 along with Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and 60 other judges.He was made the LHC chief justice on April 14, 2009 after restoration of sacked judges.He served as the chief justice for one and a half year. A full court reference will be held in his honour today at 11am in which all the judges of the LHC will participate. Later, a farewell ceremony will also be held in his honour. New Chief Justice Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry will take oath of his office today at the Governor’s House. Punjab Governor Salmaan Taseer will administer the oath – Dailytimes
