RAWALPINDI: Justice Ijaz Ahmed of the Lahore High Court Rawalpindi bench, on Tuesday, barred Punjab Health Services Director General Dr Rashid Juma from performing his official duties, and instructed him to wait for his next appointment until the matter is pending in the court.Pakistan Medical Association Rawalpindi Islamabad president, Dr Arshad Rana, had challenged Dr Juma’s appointment as Punjab Health Services DG through Malik Imran Safdar Advocate in the Lahore High Court’s Rawalpindi bench. The petitioner had pleaded before the court that Dr Juma was a neurosurgeon and had no administrative experience, as he did not hold any administrative post during his carrier.He further argued that the Health Ministry rules stipulate seven years administrative experience for the post of Health Services director general. The applicant also informed the court that Dr Juma had been working on the post for the last two years due to contacts with some influential people.
