LAHORE – Danyaal Jehangir, Wazir Ali and Sameer Iftikhar were prominent performers in the Channel V Golf at Lahore Gymkhana on Sunday.
There was huge interest in the Channel V Golf Tournament, endorsed by Work Place Solutions and Powerful Energy Drink and contested at the Lahore Gymkhana Golf course and out of a large number of fancied entrants in this event, the ones who moulded to outstanding levels of victory were Danyaal Jehangir, Wazir Ali and Sameer Iftikhar in the gross section of handicap 0 to 6 and Mohsin Anwar, Qayum Rashid in the net section of same handicap category.
For the gross winner and champion of the tournament, Daanyal Jehangir, the powerful iron shots found their way to the greens in consistent succession and the resultant birdies (3) and pars(10) brought a touch of winning excellence to his score. His major mistake appeared on the 14th hole which he double bogied because of a wild tee shot that ended up in the deep rough.
The second and third slot gross achievers Wazir Ali and Sameer Iftikhar were gallant for most of the 18 holes but somehow the birdie opportunities did not materialise.
