KARACHI: Pakistan’s Muhammad Sajjad is confident of doing well in the IBSF World Snooker Championship which expolde into action at Damascus (Syria) from December 5.“I lost in 32 round in India lasy year but this time I am looking to do even better,” highly talented 25-year-old Sajjad, who finished runner-up in Asian championship in Bangkok earlier this year, told APP on eve of his departure for Syrian capital.Sajjad, who was part of Pakistan team which won the Asian Games bronze medal, said he was in the perfect frame mind to do something special for the country before the end of the year.
“I have not been doing well after winning the nationals at home. But It has been my best 2010 year internationally as I have performed well and also won ranking event in Bangkok. So I am hoping to continue my good work in Damascus,” he said.Muhammad Sajjad, who was placed in group “A” was optimistic of reaching the last 64 round as top four cueists from each group will qualify for the knock-out stage.“If I maintained good form, luck and draw favoured me in knock-out round I have the capacity to go beyond,” he said.He said while Imran Shehzad will also be playing his second world championship, Sohail Shahzad wil be making his debut at that level.“We got good team and all capable of making it into the last 64 rounds,” he pointed out.Pakistan team is due to leave for Syria in early hours of Friday to part in over 50-nation competition staged there for the first time – App
