Attack near Governor’s convoy damages security vehicle

KHUZDAR/MASTUNG: A security vehicle which was part of the convoy escorting Governor Balochistan Nawab Zulfikaar Ali Magsi on Tuesday was slightly damaged when an explosive device blew up near Mangochar,an official said.Governor Zulfikaar Ali Magsi was returning to Quetta after taking part in the funeral of his mother in law in Kalat when an explosive device planted on the roadside near a burnt Nato oil tanker exploded shortly after the vehicle of the Governor passed by, Tehsildar Kalat Levies Munir Ahmed said.However, a vehicle of Kalat police force suffered minor damage. It is unclear whether the explosive device was planted to target the Governor.Soon after the blast teams of local police and Frontier Corps took into custody a suspicious corolla car which ignored the signal to stop and its occupants fled leaving the vehicle in the nearby orchards.
