LAHORE: Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed of the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday issued contempt of court notice to the Lahore district coordination officer (DCO) for not complying with an order.The judge directed the DCO to explain within in a day as to why contempt of court proceedings should not be initiated against him for defying the court’s order.The petitioner, Mumtaz Rashid, submitted that he had applied for the declaration of an Urdu newspaper, but the DCO did not issue him the same against which he had moved an application in the LHC. He said the court had ordered the DCO to issue the declaration.The petitioner submitted that the DCO did not comply with court’s order despite the lapse of several months.
