KARACHI: Senior Minister for Commerce Makhdoom Amin Fahim on Monday distributed shares of Pakistan Reinsurance Company Ltd (PRCL) under Benazir Employees Stock Option Scheme (BESOS) among its employees.About 228 employees of PRCL received, on an average, 20 units and each unit has 4000 shares. Similarly, every employee of PRCL has received, on an average, a dividend of Rs 111,000.The minister said that 18.4 million shares have been distributed transferred to PRCL employees and they have also received the dividend worth Rs 55 million.Amin Fahim said that now PRCL employees have also become the owner of this company they must  use all their efforts to maximize its profitability and strive hard for its growth.

He said that the founder of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Zulifkar Ali Bhutto and her illuminated daughter Mohtarma Shaheed Benazir Bhutto had always struggled for the rights of workers and people. It is because of this philosophy that PPP government is giving the rights of the workers under BESOS and making them owners of their own organisations.Responding to their demands, he said that he will discuss them with the ministry and the management of PRCL for approval. “You have my full support. The first thing I will do next week in Islamabad is to present your demands at a meeting in the Ministry and get the maximum possible relief for you as soon as possible”.He said that as a dictator, he could have approved all your demands at once. But, this is democracy and every step should be taken according to rules and regulations”, he noted.Earlier, CBA leaders urged the minister to allow increase in salary as announced for all government employees in the budget and regularize daily wage workers – App
