ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani has said that the democratic government has not come from the back doors and neither we would allow Parliament to be bulldozed adding that all Chief Ministers have been taken into confidence over the Reformed General Sales Tax Bill.Speaking on the floor of the National Assembly Prime Minister said that the present democratic government has not come from the back doors and all Ministers will be taken into confidence on the GST reforms bill and no bill will be presented without their consent. He said that the provinces have refused to provide assistance to the flood affectees and its impossible to generate Rs 160 billion for the rehabilitation of the flood victims. He said that Nawaz Sharif’s letter will be replied after President returns to the country.

He further said that no Minister has been mistreated nor the National Flag has been degraded, and how is this possible that the opposition is concerned about the well being of the nation and not the government, the government can not for sake the interests of the nation, and the accountability bill was brought up by the present government which was chosen by the people in a democratic manner and the process of accountability will be made crystal clear which was not done previously. He said the authority to allot the parliament lodges lies with the Deputy speaker and such issues should be discussed in the offices not in the assembly.

He said that Cabinet will be taken into confidence before any discussions with the IMF and before this PM has always made decisions alone, GST is not been brought up over night but its been under discussion in the Session for the past six months, firstly all four chief ministers were called for the consensus in which Sindh had its reservations. He told the house that in the meeting of the Council of common interest the GST reform bill was discussed and then accepted and further said the bill has been presented according to the agenda and been referred to the committee and if accepted by the majority it will be enforced – Onlinenews
