The Beaconhouse Group is one of largest privately owned education systems in the world. Established in November 1975 as the Les Anges Montessori Academy for toddlers, Beaconhouse has since grown into a global network of private schools, institutes, and universities, imparting distinctive and meaningful education for up to 193,000 students from pre-school to post-graduation. Of these, 82,000 study at the group’s flagship network, the Beaconhouse School System, while the remaining students are largely enrolled at The Educators, a parallel school network operated by the group. The group has 11,000 employees, of whom approximately 6,000 are teachers.

Beaconhouse Group is holding two days conference on 5th and 6th November 2010 at Pearl Continental Lahore and bringing together scholars, educationists, classroom practitioners, policy makers and experienced professionals to reassess conventional beliefs of what constitutes progressive teaching and learning while helping to change the learning experiences of children studying not only at private schools, but in schools at every level. As a place to learn new approaches and challenge thinking, attendees are encouraged to explore ways of enhancing learning and improving education. This conference is the sequel to a conference held in 2005 titled ‘Towards 2035: The School of Tomorrow’.

In the recent months, the education of thousands of school children has been abruptly halted by the devastating floods affecting Pakistan.  Conference attendees will explore ways to reestablish educational horizons in these devastated areas, bringing light to the future of Pakistan.School of Tomorrow: Freedom to Learn is a participant’s conference, including plenaries and numerous parallel sessions in the form of workshops and focus group discussions for a wide number of areas of interest – Schooloftomorrow
