AEON of Malaysia donates Rs. Rs.0.8 mln

KUALA LUMPUR: AEON SDN Berhad of Malaysia which runs mega chain hypermarkets, “JUSCO’, around Malaysia have donated Rs. 850,000/- in the Prime Minister of Pakistan’s flood Relief Fund. The donation was made by the Managing Director of AEON Naga hisa Oyama to the High Commissioner for Pakistan in Malaysia Masood Khalid. Naga hisa Oyama said the management of AEON and its employees being deeply concerned about the plight of flood victims, launched, “Pakistan Flood Victims Charity Campaign” at all JUSCO stores and AEON shopping centers in Malaysia to generate funds to assist government of Pakistan to provide relief to the flood victims.The High Commissioner thanked the company and its staff and said the donation will certainly help government of Pakistan in alleviating the suffering of the flood victims, left homeless and after the devastating floods in Pakistan.He said Pakistan was focusing on reconstruction and rehabilitation of damaged infrastructure, houses and to restore the livelihood of affected people which was an equally enormous and daunting challenge.
He urged the Malaysian construction and housing sector to come forward and help Pakistan in rebuilding roads, highways, bridges, schools, hospital, and rebuilding and two million houses.The Malaysian government and Malaysian people have been contributing generously to Prime Minister’s Relief Fund, and has reached Rs.11.69 million.The Malaysian government had donated US$1 million, Malaysian Palm Oil Council donated Rs.39.90 million and Association of Spouses of the Ministers and Deputy Ministers (BUKTI) has sent relief goods worth Rs. 46 million by two Royal Malaysian Air crafts.Putra One Club, Malaysia Relief Agency, Mercy Malaysia and Crest Malaysia had also been sending volunteers and relief goods to help flood victims in Pakistan – App
