KARACHI: Minister for Interior, Rehman Malik, has said that the government opposed drone attacks which were counter-productive and a ‘challenge to the sovereignty of the country’.Talking to the media at Jinnah International airport on arrival here Saturday, he said that the top legislative bodies including the Senate and the National Assembly have also opposed such covert operations.“We are totally in favour of war against terrorism but at the same time we want good friendly relationship with all of our neighbours,” he said.Referring to the recent incidents of target killings in Karachi, the Minister said that one of the killers involved in the Shershah carnage has been arrested and investigations were underway.Moreover, he said that covert operations were being carried out to arrest the culprits involved in the target killings and it would be premature to divulge any information to the media at this stage. He said that on the demand of the shopkeepers of the Shershah scrap market, at least 28 check posts were being set up in cooperation with the personnel of the police and Rangers for the safety of the shopkeepers – App
