ICT asked to enforce price mechanism of edible items

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Interior Rehman Malik Sunday directed the ICT Administration to enforce an effective price mechanism of food items in the markets and ensure that all essential commodities are sold at the control rates in the markets.During his surprise visit to the Aabpara market and weekly bazaar on Sunday, he directed the administration to  carry out regular price checking in the markets to ensure that rate list of food items is implemented properly and maximum relief is being provided to the citizens.Malik said that the Peoples Party government is committed to serving the masses and it will go to any extent to serve the peoples of Pakistan.The Federal Minister took serious notice at confused rate list of food items including fruits and vegetables displayed at a number of shops and stalls in the market.He issued on the spot instructions to the ICT Administration to ensure that all the food commodities are sold at the control rate.
The Federal Minister further directed that the administration should regularly carry out price checking in the markets and ensure that retail price of food items is displayed properly for the convenience of consumers.SDMs and Allaqa Magistrates were directed to carry out price checking in the markets on regular basis – App
