Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari will visit Sri Lanka next month in a bid to boost trade and security cooperation, an official said Sunday.
Zardari will be accompanied by foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and a group of Pakistani businessmen, a foreign ministry official said.
“The two days of meetings will centre around security and trade cooperation between both countries,” the official said.
Pakistan is a key supplier of small arms to Sri Lanka and also offers training to Sri Lankan security personnel.
Sri Lankan forces ended a 37-year-old separatist campaign by Tamil Tiger rebels last year following a major military onslaught.
