Security tightened ahead of 18th amend verdict

ISLAMABAD: New security arrangements have been made in the Supreme Court building for the judgment on 18th Amendment Case on October 21st, 2010.“For proper court decorum and smooth functioning of the Supreme Court, entry into Courtroom No1, where 17-member larger bench, headed by the Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry will announce the judgment on 18th Amendment Case on 21st October 2010, would be regulated by passes said a press release here on Wednesday.Following the current situation, steps have been taken for the security arrangement of the SC building and special security cameras have been installed in the court rooms as well as at public entry gates and reception areas of the Supreme Court.Passes will be issued to the petitioners, respondents, their learned counsels appearing before the court, and the journalists who regularly cover Supreme Court proceedings will also be allowed through passes.Entry into court building will be allowed after strict checking and searching and no cell phone would be carried inside the courtroom – Sananews
