Naveed Qamar reviews natural gas demand-supply position

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Syed Naveed Qamar on Tuesday directed to ensure uninterrupted gas supplies to domestic and commercial consumers.Syed Naveed Qamar was chairing a meeting of the senior officers of the Ministry of Petroleum, MDs of SNGPL, SSGC and OGDCL to review the natural gas demand and supply position of the country.In the meeting it was decided that all contractual commitments must be met. It was also decided that where possible, industrial consumers would be encouraged to use alternate fuels.Naveed Qamar directed all the concerned officers to chalk out a well coordinated winter gas load management programme and emphasized to take all the stakeholders on board.
He further directed to make all out efforts to optimize gas production from the existing and potential sources.The meeting was part of the process to finalize Ministry’s recommendations for effective management of gas load to be placed before the ECC of the Cabinet in its forthcoming meeting – App
