QUETTA: Speaker Balochistan Assembly, Mohammad Aslam Bhoothani, once again expressed his “serious concerns” over the lack of interest from the provincial ministers and members of the provincial legislative body in the proceedings of the house as he had to adjourn the session because of incomplete quorum.The session started forty minutes late from its scheduled time and Speaker Muhammad Aslam Bhootani was in the chair. Soon after the recitation from Holy Quran, member of treasury benches Ali Madad Jattak pointed out the lack of quorum.Speaker adjourned the session for fifteen minutes, hoping that more members would turn up to fill the quorum but when the session resumed after the break, the required number of members still did not show up.Former minister for food, Ali Madad Jattak, once again drew the attention of Speaker towards the quorum.Hence, the session was adjourned for five more minutes with the hope to see more MPAs come. However, the Speaker had to adjourn the session until October 14th as a last resort.
Only twelve members of the provincial assembly (MPAs) were present in the house of sixty-five.Expressing his “deep concern” and “regret” over the lack of attention from the cabinet ministers and provincial assembly, Speaker Bhoothani said there was a huge cabinet in Balochistan but important legislation could not still take place owing to absence of the ministers and MPAs.
He reminded that people had voted the MPAs to resolve their problems but, he complained, ministers took least interest in the affairs of the Balochistan Assembly.“I can only express my grief and make a request,” he said.
