NEW DELHI: Pakistani wrestlers created history in the Indian capital on Sunday as they won Pakistan their first ever Commonwealth Games gold medal in the event for 40 years.Azhar Hussain defeated Ebikewenimo Welson of Nigeria as he showed great skills along with clever footwork and strong grip to down his opponent by a fall in the second session of the 55kg freestyle final.Pakistan’s head freestyle coach MH Omar told the Indian media, “We don’t have the proper Greco-Roman coaches, but still we went for it and for the country’s sake we got the silver in the Greco-Roman and now gold in the freestyle category as well”.This is the first gold medal by any Pakistani wrestler since 1970 when four of the Pakistani wrestlers grabbed gold medals in Edinburgh.Calling Azhar a true champion, Omar further stated, “Like Sushil Kumar is for India, now the same Azhar Hussain is for Pakistan — a champion – Sportsencounter
