The Ryder Cup is heading for the first Monday finish in its 83-year history.
Rain pounded the Celtic Manor early Sunday morning and created small rivers running down some of the fairway. The matches already were seven hours behind because of a waterlogged course at the start of the Ryder Cup.
Officials say the course could not be ready for golf until at least noon on Sunday. Still to come are the six team matches that were halted on the front nine by darkness, followed by 12 singles. The Americans have a 6-4 lead, although Europe was leading in all six of the suspended matches –
