LAHORE,Sep 27 (APP)- Exhibiting endurance and undying spirit couple with astute planning,riders from Pakistan Army won the 70 kilometre road team time trial of National cycling championship here on Monday.Soldiers surprised their arch rivals Wapda with a clear finish clocking 1 hours,30m,22s to win the hectic event, a test of stamina of the riders Wapda aiming to defend the title had to contend with third place as Sui Southern Gas Company took the second place returning a timing of 1h.32m.11s.Wapda finished the event in 1h.35m.8s as Balochistan took the fourth place followed by Railways and Punjab.
Riders flagged off at DHA Phase eight and finished at the same point after going through a route for the attention of a handful crowd which saw cyclists passing on a high speed.
In 4 Kilometres team pursuit Wapda and Sui Southern Gas company qualified for final. Today the following one event was finalized.Army took the bronze and Punjab got the fourth place as at Railways and Baluchistan were at fifth and sixth places.
On Tuesday,two events will be held ,120 kilometres road race trial at DHA Phase VIII ,4. kilometres team pursuit at cycling Velodrome,team sprint final and elimination race.
