Japanese Markets, Dollar Steady

Japanese share prices ended higher Monday, as the dollar held steady against the yen.
Tokyo’s Nikkei index gained 1.4 percent , to close at 9,603. In currency trading, the dollar was selling at 84.26 yen, virtually unchanged from Friday. The Taipei market was also higher, gaining three-tenths of a percent to close at 8,192 – Voanews
