ISLAMABAD: The German embassy on Monday handed over sports equipment worth a quarter million to the Mescom football academy here at F-10 football ground. A German embassy official Ms Anderia handed over the sports equipments including 50 footballs, 18 kits, 2 polls and benches, at a ceremony which was attended by German and Nigerian Embassies. President of Islamabad Football Association Dr. Fazal-Ur-Rehman was also present.
Academy’s Coach Emeka Aliwa lauded the efforts of German Embassy for the development of football in Islamabad. He also thanked the Embassy for sponsoring sports goods and hoped that with new equipment, the academy would play a better role in developing new talent.
The German Embassy also sponsored a women’s football team from Islamabad, which had participated in the National Women’s championship held in 2004. – App
