LAHORE : A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Punjab government and Italian Development Council with regard to co-operation and investment in various sectors here on Wednesday, under which co-operation and investment will be promoted in agriculture, livestock, energy, infrastructure and manufacturing sectors.
According to an official, Punjab Investment Board Vice Chairman Rizwan Ahmed Khan on behalf of the Punjab government and Italian Development Council President, Tariq Ikram signed the MoU. Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, Ambassador of Italy Vincenzo Prati and senior officers were also present on the occasion.
Talking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said this MoU would open new vistas of co-operation in various sectors between Punjab and Italy. He also said there is a need of further promoting relationship between Pakistan and Italy in trade and economic sectors and he will send a delegation of traders and investors from Punjab to Italy for investment in various sectors. “No stone would be left unturned to implement this agreement. “Due to this agreement, Pakistan will also get new partners all over the world for investment,” he added. – Brecorder
