WASHINGTON, Sept 14 (APP): Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States Husain Haqqani met with U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder and conveyed sentiments of the Pakistani people over the case involving Dr Aafia Siddiqui.The envoy demanded a withdrawal of the case against American-educated Ms Siddiqui, in which she had been accused of attempting an attack on US officials in Afghanistan, diplomatic sources said.According to sources, the U.S. Attorney General said he is aware of the Pakistanis’ feelings and emotions over the Dr Siddiqui case and that it would be decided in accordance with the relevant U.S. laws.
Meanwile, expert sources opine since the jury has already convicted Ms Siddiqui, the judge can only determine sentence from between maximum and minimum legal terms – APP
