LONDON, (APP)- Government ministers, policy-makers and academics from twelve countries in Africa and South Asia will join leading Western experts to debate the latest ideas for stimulating economic growth in developing countries at a conference hosted by the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) next week.
According to LSE announcement, Professor Tim Besley (LSE), Professor Paul Collier (Oxford University) and Professor Ricardo Hausmann (Harvard) will be among the distinguished experts joining senior government ministers and advisors from Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Ghana, India, Mozambique, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Uganda, Mauritius, Nigeria and Pakistan.
The discussions, on topics such as the contribution of mobile phones to development, reform of educational systems, strengthening tax capacity in developing countries and China’s role in Africa, will be part of the International Growth Centre’s (IGC) Growth Week 2010, taking place at LSE from September 20-22. – App
