UAE Red Crescent to give 2,00,000 tents: Iftikhar

PESHAWAR: On the directive of president Awami National Party Asfandyar Wali, the president ANP United Arbab Emirates Senator Abdul Nabi Bangash distributed cash among 400 flood affected families at Bacha Khan Markaz on Sunday.

Minister for Information Mian Iftikhar Hussain, Secretary General Tajuddin Khan, Secretary Information of the party Arbab Tahir Khan Khalil, president Abdu Dhabi chapter Hakeem Bangash, Hameedur Rehman Muhammadzai of Nowshera organising committee were also present.

Mian Iftikhar Hussain while addressing on the occasion assured the flood affected families that ANP would standby its people, irrespective of party affiliation.

They said that the party workers and its leadership and the government would utilise all its resources to facilitate the people.

Iftikhar said that the country is facing the record-breaking flood and ruined everything and a record damages to loss of life and property but the government took it as challenge by utilising all its resources to facilitate the people.

He said after insurgency and militancy the province is facing devastated flood that ruined the economy of the province besides bringing to halt 60 per cent of the ongoing developmental projects.

The information minister further said that the government was aware of its responsibility and it would take every step to help the flood affected people.

“We are religiously and morally bound to help our needy brothers and sisters who are facing the most horrible flood of history.

Iftikhar Hussain said that now we have proved to the world that we could deal with all challenges and certainly we would succeed in dealing the challenges occurred as result of flood.

“We would come up in efficient manners while dealing with the devastations of flood,” Iftikhar added.

He also lauded the UAE Red Crescent which will also be providing 2,00,000 tents for flood victims.

He said, Secretary General of the Red Crescent of the UAE, Mohamed Khalifa Ahmed Al Qamzi and Ali Saif Al Awani, UAE Ambassador met with Chief Minister Amir Haider Khan Hoti as a part of  their tour to see the situation of those affected by the floods and their needs.

Al Qamzi briefed the chief minister about Red Crescent efforts to deliver emergency aid to the flood affected people.

He said the Red Crescent has so far provided food, tents and sending two medical teams to the region to provide health services besides launching a vaccination campaign to immunise thousands of children and women against measles, tetanus, polio prevention, respiratory and skin diseases.

The ambassador said that the UAE Red Crescent sent 40 tons relief goods and is preparing fully equipped 2,00,000 tents equipment shelters for the flood affectees. – APP
