With only few hours left behind in General Election 2013, all the political campaigns stopped on electronic media, no more processions and addresses to general public; we all are waiting for a big change – a “New Pakistan”.
“New Pakistan”, is not just the concept of Imran Khan, Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, to revive a Pakistan which Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan dreamt of, but it is the ideology. It is the motto to bring back a corruption free Pakistan where people might have justice, employment, education, better standards of life with basic needs fulfilled, inflation to end, justice and equality.
Last five years have escorted massive electricity shortfall, power supply cuts, petrol and CNG price hikes, high rate of suicidal bomb blasts, and bloodshed, to which, now, all political parties leaders have claimed to meet the end.
The frequently appearing paid political content on electronic media; the vehement addresses to processions, all were accompanied with the customary promises and the rest being the only extreme critique on other political parties. Pakistan Muslim League-N (PMLN) with their electoral sign “Lion”, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) with “Bat”, Pakistan’s Peoples Party (PPP) with “Arrow”, Pakistan Muslim League-Q with “Bicycle”, and many others had satirically knocked down other parties.
It might be the source of party promotion, but what the Pakistani public could believe is the only “practice with words” which had been proved only a myth in past years. Accompanied with propaganda, the campaigns were running just to expose how worst leadership we had before, rather than recalling one’s own efficiency and patriotism.
PML-N kept on boasting their performance in Punjab province whereas Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman convicted Imran Khan as Jewish lobby. PPP came up with facts and figures from years old news headlines to reveal how PML-N has caused floods and how they are involved in corruption through telephonic conversation, and many others highlighting their apathy with the nation. The contrasting words, sharp sarcasm, claims and commitments are considered the only measures to make people believe to change the fate of Pakistan.
But, is that methodology of “blame game” adopted by political parties PPP, PML-N, PML-Q, PTI, JUI-F, and ANP, in their recent political campaigns the only gateway to win Election 2013?
Pakistani nation has witnessed democracy and dictatorship in past years. We have undergone leadership of Pakistan’s Peoples Party, and Pakistan Muslim League-N for many times. Our sovereignty and survival is costing us nothing but misery, terrorism, loadshedding, debts and taxes. The time when nations stand as super powers, we are still discombobulated in modern version of stoneage.
11th May, 2013, Pakistan’s General Election 2013, is just a day ahead and the election momentum has built to not to vote only but to vote for our future. Pakistani nation needs a visionary leader with strong will power, sportsmanship and managerial skills who can sustain the ideology on which Pakistan was attained. The leader with not just bogus vows but with a clear manifesto, a leader with not just assuring public with his performance but with strategies to fight external forces. A leader who has raised the value of youth and provoked them to change fate of our homeland Pakistan. A leader who has revolutionized our minds to get rid of loot ridden policies and to rise for a “New Pakistan”.
Election 2013 poll is the gateway to “New Pakistan”, it is the time to unite and stand for a better and stronger Pakistan. Let’s come out of your homes tomorrow morning and vote for CHANGE, vote for “NEW PAKISTAN”. – Lubna Khalil
