LAHORE: The World Music Day was celebrated in the city on Friday with a musical concert at Ali Auditorium, wherein emerging and leading underground bands performed and enthralled the audience.
The concert, organised by City FM 89, was attended by a large number of music lovers, especially youngsters. The performers including 4 Payee (Red Bull Tum Tum Pa National Finalists), LUMS Music Society, Reset Switch, Odyssey, Mujeeb Mustafa, Beygairat Brigade and Poor Rich Boys, put up absorbing musical performances, presenting music of all genres, including rock and rap.
World Music Day or Fete de la Musique originated in France and is now celebrated worldwide. The concept behind this day is to offer people a chance to appreciate music by giving free musical performances on streets and roads. Talking to Daily Times, City FM89’s Yasir Khalid said that CityFM89 was going to host similar musical concerts in Karachi and Islamabad as well. staff report -Dailytimes
