Fab Four cover band to leave Broadway in September

NEW YORK: It’s time to say goodbye to the Fab Four cover band on Broadway after a long and winding road.Rain: A Tribute to the Beatles on Broadway” will play its final performance Sept. 4 at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre.The show is an extended Beatles concert with near-perfect reproductions of “Hard Day’s Night,” “Yesterday,” “Eleanor Rigby” and “Strawberry Fields,” among many others.Originally intended as a 13-week stand, the show opened at the Neil Simon Theatre in October, recouped its $2 million investment in seven weeks, extended and moved into the smaller Brooks Atkinson in February.But it has been struggling at the box office.
