Daniel Craig had ‘no major game plan’ for the latest James Bond movie. The British actor makes his third outing as the iconic suave spy in the upcoming film Skyfall.
His debut performance as Bond in Casino Royale was a huge hit, while Quantum of Solace received a lukewarm reception. Although Daniel didn’t want to over-think how to make Skyfall a success, he realised a star-studded cast would help.
‘I had no major game plan coming to this, but in the back of my mind, I thought if we can get the right writer and director, and get the script right, then we can attract those people. Then when Sam [Mendes] came on board and we got the script, and then every single number one on our list said yes, that gave us a real boost,’ he told the latest edition of UK magazine Esquire.
Stars including Ralph Fiennes, Javier Bardem, Naomie Harris and Albert Finney all appear in Skyfall.Daniel hopes Bond fans will appreciate the script and action scenes in the latest instalment.’Whenever I go and see a big blockbuster movie, whether it’s about aliens or whatever, as long as it’s got an element of truth in it, I’ll buy it,’ he explained. ‘People ask me [about Bond], ‘What about the gadgets? What about the jokes? And I can’t force that in if it’s not there in the script. If it is there, I can make something of it.’ – MSN
