Actor Simon Pegg and director Edgar Wright admit that it’s ‘hard to say’ what may manifest in The World’s End.
The duo are famed for their Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy, which includes genre-bending comedies Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. Simon and Edgar are in the pre-production stage of their third and final movie in the series entitled The World’s End. The pair don’t really need how to classify their new feature. ‘Hard to say,’ Edgar told Empire Online. ‘It’s a sci-fi comedy. Social science-fiction. Look it up on Wikipedia and then bone up on John Christopher and John Wyndham.’
Simon is particularly excited about the upcoming film’s hilarious plot. ‘[It involves] a crawl through twelve pubs, culminating in the final one, which is The World’s End,’ the actor revealed. Edgar is impressed by the emotional undertones that will be present in the film. ‘This is as much about where you grew up as the people you grew up with,’ the director explained. ‘[I]t’s also very silly. I would say it’s darker, more personal and more silly.’ The World’s End starring Simon and Nick Frost will be released in 2014.-msn
