The number of Pakistani pilgrims martyred in the Saudi Hajj stampede has risen to 76 on Monday.

A release from the Ministry of Religious Affairs said 60 Pakistani pilgrims are still missing after the September 24 stampede near holy city of Makkah.
Forty six other Pakistanis are still being hospitalized in Saudi Arabia while 40 have been discharged. At least 29 martyred pilgrims were buried in Saudi Arabia whereas 306 Pakistani pilgrims have been traced so far. More than one thousand Hajj pilgrims from around the world have lost their lives in the tragic incident.

The disaster was the second deadly accident to mar the Hajj. A massive construction crane collapsed on the Grand Mosque in the nearby holy city of Makkah days beforehand, killing 109 people, many of them pilgrims.
