Top Pakistani scientists to attend Jeddah workshop

The Jeddah Chambers of Commerce & Industry (JCCI) and the Engineers Welfare Forum (EWF) will hold a workshop on energy production through natural resources tomorrow at the JCCI premises.

The workshop is held under the auspices of Mazen Muhammad Batterjee, deputy chairman of the JCCI. Pakistani scientist Samar Mubarakmand, known for his plans to produce energy indigenously from gasification, will be the chief guest. He will be accompanied by Shahid Munir, another scientist, who rose to fame for his ideas to produce energy from sugarcane bagasse and who will deliver a lecture on the fuel staging of sugarcane bagasse.Talal Samarqandi, another scientist from Pakistan, as well as Aftab A. Khokhar, the Pakistan consul general in Jeddah, will also attend the function.

“We have been holding seminars and workshops annually for the last five years on our own, but this time, the JCCI has come forward to collaborate with us to hold this important seminar. This shows the growing importance of the forum in organizing events on subjects of importance for both Saudi Arabia and Pakistan and also for the people of other countries,” said EWF Preisdent Aleem Khan.

In the future, the JCCI and EWF aim to jointly engage in activities to engineer development that includes sharing and updating on scientific know-how, organizing more workshops and guiding upcoming engineers.Mansoor Elahi Khan, secretary general for EWF, added, “We do not differentiate between engineers on the basis of one’s nationality and are open to engineers who come to seek help, orientation and know-how.” – ArabNews
