The Council of Ministers, chaired by Crown Prince Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, yesterday reaffirmed the Kingdom’s rejection and condemnation of Israeli unilateral actions aimed at changing the demographic reality of the occupied Palestinian territory, including Jerusalem.
The Cabinet appealed to the international community to address the Israeli illegal practices which violate the international law and UN resolutions, emphasizing the need to stop all actions aimed at Judaization of Al-Quds and end the economic and military blockade against the Palestinians.The Cabinet welcomed the Dushanbe declaration in the 11th session of the Ministerial Meeting of the Forum on Asian Cooperation Dialogue in the capital of Tajikistan, reaffirming the Kingdom’s support for Asian Cooperation Dialogue as it represents a suitable framework to promote understanding and cooperation for the development of the Asian continent and foster global peace and security.
The Cabinet expressed its appreciation of the General Council of the World Trade Organization for its unanimous selection of the Kingdom as president of the Trade Council for Services in Geneva.The Cabinet commended the prestigious King Faisal International Prize, saying it shows the Kingdom’s appreciation of science and scientists and its encouragement to specialists, researchers and their achievements.
Minister of Culture and Information Abdul Aziz Khoja said the Cabinet appreciated the efforts of the leaders of Arab countries at the 24th Arab Summit, the valuable content of speeches made by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah and other Arab leaders before the Doha summit and the resolutions taken by the summit.The Cabinet authorized the minister of municipal and rural affairs — or his deputy — to discuss with the Jordanian side a draft agreement for cooperation in the field of municipal affairs. The Cabinet approved the agreement with Gambia in the field of air transport services.
The Cabinet approved the memorandum of understanding for technical cooperation with the High Commissioner for Human Rights of the United Nations, which was signed in Geneva on June 27, 2012.The Cabinet appointed Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Rumaihi adviser for transport affairs at the Ministry of Transport; Sami bin Othman Al-Khuwaiter consultant civil engineer at the Ministry of Health; Aqeel bin Abdullah Al-Saqyah director general of Dar Al-Ifta in the Eastern Province; Abdul Hamid bin Abdul Aziz Al-Ghaliqah, director general of the Office of the Minister of State at the Cabinet’s Secretariat.
