The Qusais police have honoured a Pakistani taxi driver, who returned a bag containing jewels and 123,700 Saudi riyals that was forgotten in his cab by its owner.
Major Juma Khalfan, Director of the Qusais police station, handed over appreciation certificate and gifts to the driver, Omer Hayat Ajmal Khan, who found the jewels and the money in a bag which was forgotten by the owner in his vehicle. He handed over the bag to the police.Khalfan said that the owner of the money had reported to a police station about losing his money and this helped the police in returning it immediately to him.
Major Juma congratulated the driver for his honest behaviour. He said that the honouring was part of police’s partnership and cooperation with the public to preserve the security in the UAE. Omer Khan said that he transported the owner of the bag from Al Riqqa to Sharjah and while he was returning to Dubai he stopped in a gas station to fill petrol. At the petrol station, he saw the bag in the back seat of the vehicle and handed it over to the Qusais police. He said that the appreciation would encourage him and his colleagues to be honest. – Khaleejnews
