World leaders began to arrive in Los Cabos, Mexico on Sunday (June 17) ahead of a Group of 20 meeting likely to focus on new tensions between European leaders over the deepening euro zone crisis.
Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard, South Korean President Lee Myung-Bank, Indian President Manmohan Singh, Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda and Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff all landed at Los Cabos International Airport.
Leaders from the 20 industrialized and developing nations, representing more than 80 percent of world economic output, are expected to deliver pledges to stimulate growth while balancing those efforts against steps to rein in budget deficits at a meeting in Los Cabos, Mexico, on Monday and Tuesday.
On Saturday, Mexican President Felipe Calderon said that the world s biggest economies must commit to a strong Europe and could agree to further bolster the International Monetary Fund s ability to contain fallout from Europe s debt crisis. – Dunyanews
