A 21-year-old man has been arrested after the bodies of a mother and daughter were found in a house in Oxfordshire. Thames Valley Police were called to the property on Ireton Court in Thame at around 2am, where the women were found with fatal injuries.A third woman is being treated in hospital but her wounds are not thought to be life-threatening.A man was arrested on suspicion of murder in Thame Market Place shortly afterwards and is being questioned at Abingdon police station.A police spokesman said: “Nobody else is being sought for questioning at this time.”

The names and ages of the victims have not yet been released but detectives said it appeared the women may have sustained stab wounds.Sky’s crime correspondent Martin Brunt said: “The man was arrested within about 30 minutes of police arriving at the house.”Brunt said police have described the incident as a “domestic”.Detective Chief Inspector Joe Kidman, the senior investigating officer, said: “We are in the early stages of our investigation. We have arrested a man on suspicion of murder.

“At this time it appears that all parties are known to each other and we are not seeking anyone else in connection with this case.”We are working hard to establish the full circumstances of this incident and what led to the tragic deaths of these two women.”Neighbours said the family moved to the area less than a year ago and were quiet and private. They said no man appeared to live in the property but believed the daughter had young children. – Skynews
