OSLO, Norway: A helicopter crashed Monday in the mountains of western Norway, killing at least three of the five people on board, police said.Police initially told Norwegian media and the company that owned the chopper that the pilot and four passengers all died in the crash in Ullesvang, some 50 miles (85 kilometers) east of Bergen, Norway’s second largest city.Local police chief Geir Gudmundsen later told The Associated Press that only three of the bodies have been found near the burning wreckage and two others are now officially considered missing. He said rescuers had not been able to search the wreckage because of the intense heat.”There’s been a strong fire for several hours,” Gudmundsen said, adding that rescuers would likely have to wait until Tuesday morning before they could search the wreckage. The AS350 Squirrel aircraft belonged to domestic helicopter company Airlift AS, said spokesman Gunnar Nordahl.”It had been contracted for transporting passengers and goods related to building works on cabins in the mountains,” Nordahl told AP. – Yahoonews
