New York region again lashed by snow

NEW YORK: Snow fell across the New York area Monday morning provided a harsh reminder to residents that winter is still here.Two to three inches was already on the ground before dawn, but officials were hopeful that the Presidents’ Day, an American holiday today, would see lessening of the  storm’s impact.But still, a slushy mix is making streets dangerous, and officials are urging caution to anyone who must leave home.  Trucks were salting and began ploughing as soon as there was enough accumulation, but slow driving was encouraged.Another system coming though Monday evening could drop some more precipitation across the area.The storms are making for tricky travel at times, especially in northern areas – APP
