NEW YORK: A woman was killed and more than 100 people were left homeless in an apartment fire that was propelled by heavy winds before it was brought under control early on Sunday, authorities said.The five-alarm fire in a Brooklyn apartment building left 31 people injured, including 20 firefighters, said Fire Department spokesman Richard Viglione.The injuries appeared to be minor, he said.More than 200 firefighters spent all night battling the windy blaze before bringing it under control shortly before 2 a.m. on Sunday, he said.Viglione said a 64-year-old woman was found dead in the rubble of the 70-unit building.The cause of the fire was under investigation – Yahoonews
