PPP Chairman Bilawal attends annual prayer breakfast

WASHINGTON, Feb 4 (APP): Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal  Bhutto Zardari on Thursday attended the annual National Prayer Breakfast, which was addressed by U.S. President Barack Obama.Invitees from Pakistan at the yearly event, hosted by members of the United States Congress and organized on their behalf by The Fellowship Foundation, included Sanam Bhutto, Federal Minister for Minorities Shahbaz Bhatti and Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States Husain Haqqani.

In his remarks, President Barack Obama prayed for the violence in Egypt to end and for a better future for the Middle Eastern country, which after a week of peaceful protests, is seeing clashes between pro-democracy and President Hosni Mubarak’s backers.

“We pray that the violence in Egypt will end, and that the rights and aspirations of the Egyptian people will be realized, and that a better day will dawn over Egypt and throughout the world,” Obama said.Mark Kelly, a Houston-based astronaut and husband of Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, who was shot last month also attended the event and told the gathering that Giffords “gets a little better” every day.The National Prayer Breakfast is a decades-long U.S. tradition for presidents, top political leaders, senior government officials, religious figures and international personalities invited by the organizers – APP
