BEIJING: Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Masood Khan visited the residence of late former Chinese Vice Premier and Foreign Minister Huang Hua.The Islamabad envoy on the occasion conveyed condolences on behalf of the Government and people of Pakistan.Huang Hua passed away on November 22 at the age of 97.Earlier, Prime Minister of Pakistan, Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani sent a condolence message to his Chinese counterpart, Premier Wen Jia Bao. The Prime Minister, in his message, said: “Huang Hua was a great friend of Pakistan. His personal contribution in laying the foundation of the all-weather friendship between China and Pakistan would always be remembered in Pakistan and especially by the people of Pakistan.”
Talking to the wife He Liliang Ambassador Masood Khan said that Huang Hua made immense contribution to strengthen the Pakistan-China friendship. He would always be remembered as a staunch friend of Pakistan and a leader of outstanding international standing.Ambassador Khan said the leadership and the people of Pakistan are grieving over the loss of a sincere friend. As a distinguished diplomat Huang Hua will remain a role model for others.He also placed a floral wreath on the mausoleum of the late leader.On the occasion Ms. He Liliang said that Huang Hua always considered Pakistan as China’s special friend.In recognition of his outstanding contribution to Pakistan-China friendship the Government of Pakistan awarded Hilal-i-Imtiaz to Huang Hua in 2007 – App
