‘King Abdullah has begun walking’

RIYADH: Second Deputy Premier and Interior Minister Prince Naif said Saturday evening that Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah is able to walk on his own inside the hospital and is in good health.King Abdullah underwent successful surgery at New York Presbyterian Hospital last week to correct a slipped disc and blood clot following back pain.Prince Naif made the statement while receiving Uzbekistan’s National Security Chief Gen. Rustam Inayatov at his office in Riyadh.”We in the Kingdom have a second festival of Eid because of the king’s good health,” the prince said. In the meeting, Prince Naif stressed the importance of cooperation between the two countries.

“We are pleased with the existing cooperation between the two countries, and future actions will prove the strength of this cooperation. The security of Uzbekistan concerns us just as the security of the Kingdom concerns you,” the prince added.Inayatov hoped that cooperation between the two countries would be comprehensive covering all aspects of life and not confined to security efforts.Assistant Minister of Interior for Security Affairs Prince Muhammad bin Naif attended the function. Prince Muhammad and the Uzbek official signed an agreement of cooperation covering areas such as combating terrorism, drug trafficking, cyber crimes and organized crimes – Arabnews
