MAKKAH: The Women’s Voluntary Committee of the South Asian Tawafa Establishment honored a seven-day-old baby, born to an Indian pilgrim in Makkah.

The function, which was held at the establishment’s headquarters last Wednesday, was attended by Fouziah Khan, wife of Pakistan’s consul general, and Imrana Siddiqui, wife of Pakistan’s deputy consul general.
Over 200 women from India, Bangladesh and Afghanistan, in addition to women from some Arab countries, participated.

In her opening address, the committee’s chairman, Fatin Ibrahim, welcomed the pilgrims and enumerated the government’s efforts to enable all pilgrims to complete the fifth pillar of Islam with ease and comfort in a safe and secure atmosphere.

Khulud Al-Mahdi spoke about the committee’s achievements and planned activities, and Sameera Bannani, head of the establishment’s Religious Committee, spoke about the proper way women should behave during Haj.

Hayat Hanafi answered questions from the floor during a question and answer session. There were also a series of quizzes related to religious topics. Prizes were also distributed to winners.

The pilgrims were also given a tour of the establishment’s headquarters – Arabnews
